Within the SPIE Corporate Head office, reporting to the Group Sustainability Director, you will be in charge of leading SPIE's climate action, including its science-based decarbonization strategy, roadmap and initiatives, enhancing SPIE's leading position what regards energy transition solutions to cities, infrastructure and industry. You will be supported by an experienced data analyst.
Your main roles will involve:
Lead Group short, mid and long-term climate strategy:
- Define and roll out a science-based carbon footprint reduction trajectory, and support Business Units and functions such as Procurement in the implementation process. This includes developing a circular economy roadmap,
- Monitor SPIE's alignment with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities, and support Business Units on Taxonomy interpretation and roll-out.
Coordinate global greenhouse gas reporting campaigns, securing alignment with reporting standards (CSRD), enhancing reporting protocols, responding to auditors.
Raise internal awareness on climate (SPIE Climate Academy), develop and deploy training modules,
Support Business Units in their methodological approach to avoided emissions calculations,
Organise the Group transition risk assessment and the related resilience action plan,
Contribute to develop external positioning and visibility of SPIE on climate action through the development of collaborations and participation in external working groups.
* Engineering degree from a recognised school/university. A specialisation in environmental sciences, climate accounting, monitoring and modelling is of advantage.
* 5 to 10 years' experience in climate, sustainability and similar fields
* Proficient on climate standards, regulations, and carbon footprint assessments.
* Hands-on, demonstrated ability to lead projects and deliver them on-time and efficiently
* Ability to analyse and rigorously project data
* Autonomy in work organization
* Ability to network and influence operational and functional teams
* Fluent in English and German.
* Occasional travels to continental Europe
