About SportsLAB
SportsLab contributes to product innovation and design by understanding the human body in its environment. We are a team of 50 engineers and researchers dedicated to the body and mind of the sportsman and sportswoman.
The internship will be held in the body sciences team in our laboratory in Lille. The body sciences team studies the human’s body in motion and its interaction with sports products. For example, the laboratory's experts assist in the design of ergonomic and safe products.
Projects
General Context :
Acquire and maintain new gestures when discovering new physical activity is essential to enjoy and continue it in the long term. However, these mechanisms of acquisition and retention, are complex and depend on external and internal factors .
The objective of this internship will be to better understand the acquisition and retention of new motor gestures in adults depending on their age and the practice of sport activities.
Experiments
The intern will have to perform an experimental protocol in the laboratory or on the field with human subjects preceded by a bibliography. The movement and the motor control of each participant will be measured with different laboratory tools (biomechanical, physiological, balance, etc..) according to the aim of the project.
Data analysis
The intern will perform the data analysis to extract relevant variables linked to the aim of the project to respond to the hypotheses of the study.
Return of results
The intern will have to write a paper report and an oral presentation to present and capitalize all the study results like in a scientific article.
